In the Balkans
A high peak rises higher.
Watches and listens
To the fields’ mourning.

In a dry land
A fountain explodes
Filled with obscure pain
And scarlet strength,
Dropping hopeless tears,
Spilling the blood of ages,
Hurling tons of surviving bones.
The fountain of my land
Cries.
Unseen,
Unheard,
Forgotten
Time after time.


The remnants of history
Are about to scream
Infinite times louder.
Losses and sacrifices
Shouldn’t wind up in vain


like a repetition,
the sound of legends
still beautifully replace the lack of ourselves
...and we immerse ourselves in this shameful embellishment,
but only until the fountain deluges us all.
